Nazarena Marano

Nazarena Marano is a Consultant at CEPA specialising in power market modelling and economic analysis. She has experience supporting governments, regulators and market participants on electricity market design, energy storage, interconnection and security of supply across Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Nazarena Marano joined CEPA as a Consultant in 2024. She specialises in electricity market modelling and economic analysis, with experience across electricity market design, energy storage, interconnection and security of supply.
Since joining CEPA, Nazarena has worked on projects for clients including DESNZ, Ofgem, Elexon, the Department for the Economy (DfE) in Northern Ireland, the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment (DCEE) in Ireland, and the Utility Regulator (UR). Her work has involved leading complex power market modelling and supporting policy and regulatory decisions on balancing market reform, network congestion management, long-duration electricity storage, interconnection, and gas and electricity security of supply.
Prior to joining CEPA, Nazarena worked as an economic adviser at Argentina's Ministry of Production, where she advised ministers on the impacts of international trade policy. She also undertook economic consultancy projects for clients across Latin America.
Nazarena holds an MSc in Economics of Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability from the Barcelona School of Economics, a Master's in International Studies from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and a BA in Economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires.
