Jay Faris

Jay Faris joined CEPA as an Economist in 2023. He holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a BA in Mathematics from New York University. Prior to earning his MPhil, he was a Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., where he provided policy and research support to the Global Modeling Studies section. At the Board, Jay was responsible for running the International Finance division's alternative scenarios and recession probability forecasts and cultivated extensive experience with standard econometric and scientific computing tools, including R and Stata.

Jay's MPhil thesis examined the effects of green monetary policy on global interest rates. Jay completed courses in finance, microeconometrics, and international economics, equipping him with quantitative experience and a variety of perspectives on policy issues. At NYU he received two awards on the merits of his undergraduate thesis, which modeled a vaccination scheme on a randomly-evolving network.
