Within CEPA's finance practice, Hernan Lew has advised British Airways, the International Air Transport Association, Ofcom and the Commission for Communications Regulation on cost of capital issues for upcoming price reviews, and has supported Ofgem as a financial adviser on the competitive tender process to select offshore transmission operators in the TR7 to TR11 tender rounds.

He has also worked with CEPA's energy practice on cost assessment and regulatory finance aspects of Price Review 6 for the Commission for Regulation of Utilities. In related work, he has developed Python models of water poverty measures and simulations for Water UK.

Before joining CEPA, Hernan worked as a management consultant at IQVIA, where he developed economic and business models and market projections to support the launch of new treatments in Argentina’s healthcare sector. He delivered profit and loss (P&L) analyses and tailored strategies for multinational pharmaceutical companies to optimise market entry and designed organisational structures across Latin America for companies establishing new operations in the region. Hernan also worked on business expansion at PedidosYa (Delivery Hero) as a LatAm Business Senior Analyst, managing projects across 13 Latin American countries. In this role, he used SQL and R to analyse large datasets, producing economic forecasts and business cases to guide strategic decisions.

In the energy sector, Hernan worked as a consultant at Samara Energy, a Spanish solar energy company, where he led the technical and financial design of solar panel installations. He developed market entry strategies by analysing competitor activity and leveraging existing policy incentives to support the firm’s growth.

Hernan holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Buenos Aires, where he specialised in economics and management, and an MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also worked for 2 years as a teaching assistant for the Applied Microeconomics course at the University of Buenos Aires.
