Andrew Rendall is a PhD economist with 20+ years of experience in finance, competition, taxation and regulation focusing on electricity, natural resources, oil & gas and networked industries. He has held several senior roles across consulting, industry, government and academia.

Andrew Rendall is a PhD economist with 20+ years of experience in finance, competition, taxation and regulation focusing on electricity, natural resources, oil & gas and networked industries. He has held several senior roles across consulting, industry, government and academia - most recently as an A/Professor of Practice at Monash University, Principal Advisor at Rio Tinto, Chief Economist at the Essential Services Commission (Victoria) and Director at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Prior to Australia, Andrew was a Partner with ECON Consulting Group based in Norway and Switzerland, where he led projects for multinational corporate clients, governments and NGOs, including the World Bank and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). These projects used IO-macro portfolio optimisation models to directly inform corporate strategy (e.g., investments, a, divestiture) and government policy (e.g., tax reform, competition policy) at the senior executive (ministerial) level.

In the United States, he worked at Compass Lexecon as a Senior Consultant supporting international arbitration and US federal litigation related to expropriation claims, regulatory processes, M&A and competition issues.

Andrew has a BSc (Economics) from The Pennsylvania State University, an MA (Economics) from Tufts University, and a PhD (Economics) from the Graduate School of Business, University of Zurich.
