Modelling the economics of academic publishing for the Publishing Research Consortium

The study aimed at establishing a link between cost incurred by publishers and valued created. CEPA used stakeholder interviews to identify aspects that were not captured in previous studies on the cost of academic publishing. In particular CEPA developed a proposed methodology that accounts for initial investments through a depreciation-style treatment of historical costs.
