Australian Competition & Consumer Commission publishes CEPA’s WACC methodology report

CEPA’s final WACC methodology report provides a response to comments provided by stakeholders in response to a draft WACC methodology report. The advice is in the context of three specific services – the National Broadband Network special access undertaking, Regional Broadband Scheme levy and voice interconnection services.

The report accompanies the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission's (ACCC) statement on WACC methodology, which has been published to provide greater transparency to regulated entities and interested parties about the WACC methods that the ACCC generally considers appropriate for use as a starting point, when it makes determinations, decisions or assessments in performing its economic regulatory functions. The statement is also intended to assist parties to consider and frame any relevant regulatory proposals and submissions.
