GALVmed is a Livestock Health Development Product and Access Partnership focussing on sustainable poverty alleviation by making available and accessible animal health products (vaccines, medicines and diagnostics) to farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia who rely on their livestock for livelihood. GALVmed is currently funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
As GALVmed’s work continues to expand across the globe, efforts are being made to ensure that its decisions are backed by tangible evidence, and implementation is based on solid design approaches that guarantee clear monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning.
CEPA was appointed by GALVmed to consultatively develop a ‘Theory of Change’ (TOC) model and narrative document, with links to the M&E system and other organisational strategic documents. The work involved a comprehensive review of relevant GALVmed documents, including its Business Plan and M&E framework, targeted consultations with different levels of GALVmed staff and comprehensive review discussions at various levels of the organisation.
