CEPA supported The Partnership for Maternal Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH) in organising the Asia-Pacific Leadership and Policy Dialogue for Women’s and Children’s Health, Manila. The meeting was held between 7-9 November 2012 and attended by over 150 participants from government, donor, civil society, the UN and the private sector to share knowledge and experiences related to regional strategies for investment, policy implementation, and accountability.

CEPA’s support included facilitating and managing the inputs of various committees who were constituted to advise on the themes for the meeting (accountability, advocacy, implementation, innovation, investment and research), as well as drafting five strategy briefs across these themes. The strategy briefs were used to promote discussion and update meeting participants on the relevant issues in women’s and children’s health.

These strategy briefs have since been published on the PMNCH website and can be found here:
  • CRVS
  • Opportunities for Countdown
  • Budget tracking and parliamentary action
  • Building advocacy coalitions
  • Management of decentralised systems
CEPA were also the rapporteurs for the meeting and developed the meeting summary on behalf of the PMNCH Secretariat. Additionally, the team helped with creating summary presentations, organising ministerial meetings and other work relating to the management of the meeting.
