Case study description GALVmed, a not-for-profit global alliance, currently funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, works with partners to reduce poverty and make a sustainable difference in access to animal health medicines for poor livestock keepers.
CEPA provided support to GALVmed on the development of strategy and plans for GALVmed activities in South Asia. We helped GALVmed to:
(i) understand the animal health market in India and South Asia, and the value chain for priority diseases;
(ii) develop an appropriate strategy for its activities and interventions in the region, and identify where it can add value; and
(iii) review activities in relation to projects and having a presence in India, as well as those of key animal health stakeholders and partners in the region more broadly.
