The AATF is a not-for-profit foundation that promotes public-private partnerships to improve access to and delivery of appropriate technologies that can further agricultural productivity in sub-Saharan Africa. The AATF and its initiatives are funded by a group of investors including: the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, PepsiCo, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

2014-2018 Business Plan
During the final year of implementation of its 2009-2013 Business Plan, AATF commissioned CEPA to provide an external review and input on the draft 2014-2018 Business Plan. Our work ensured the Business Plan was in tandem with the organisation’s long term strategy, vision and mandate, and that it clarified AATF’s envisaged role and growth potential during the Business Plan period. CEPA worked with AATF to enhance the Business Plan, strengthening the document and its impact on AATF’s core audience.

2009-2013 Business Plan

CEPA revised and restructured the AATF’s Business Plan for the period 2009-2013, specifically focusing on improving the way in which AATF’s key interventions were presented in the plan and thus communicated to a donor audience. The work built on past work CEPA had conducted for AATF.
We also expanded the Business Plan to estimate the impact of AATF’s proposed interventions on farm households over a 10-year period, based on economic modelling. These estimates were translated into monitoring and evaluation intermediate output targets for AATF over the 2009-2013 period.
