7th October 2015
On September 29th, 2015 the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced its decision on two appeals relating to the recent RIIO-ED1 price control determinations by GEMA. Each appeal was on specified elements of the price control. The details of the decision on the Northern Powergrid (NPg) referral are available here
; and on the British Gas Trading (BGT) referral - here
. In short, the CMA upheld the appeal for change of the smart grid adjustment (NPg) and the appeal for IQI adjustment change (BGT). These constitute two out of eight grounds for appeal in total. The rest were rejected.
We have developed two summary notes of the decisions and their implications - one on the Northern Powergrid (NPg) referral and one on the British Gas Trading (BGT) referral. These short notes can be found here.
