26th February 2016
The Australian Competition Tribunal has today ruled against AER’s decision on opex for New South Wales and ActewAGL electricity distribution networks. ActewAGL’s appeal was supported by an expert report by CEPA on benchmarking and setting efficiency targets for Australian distribution companies. The AER is to remake its decisions in accordance with the findings of the Tribunal, including assessing whether the forecast opex proposed by the companies reasonably reflects each of the opex criteria set out in the National Electricity Rules.
